Shop, a convenience store under the height and weight of urban change. A simple two story red brick and wooden window world, where products are displayed for their branded bounty, pre-packed foods shelved and plucked as though fresh from the bordering farmlands and bought at the counter, carried away, going beyond the shop exit, as the brass bell saying bye.

The shutters soon to be closed for the last time as a tidal of a dawn emerges with new stores, on new streets and new customers living high above in their apartment towers as they take on a whole new cycle of life on a old and tested footprint.

Titled 'Shop' it displays the changing face of cities under regeneration. Where the old can no longer compete with the up and coming new.

Gabled Galleon

“At first glance this image evoked for me the impression of decay, lives lived and passed, the use of space and how spaces can become 'not good enough' anymore in the eyes of people or a community … When I look at the image I see maritime resonances from the mesh that looks like rigging from an ancient sea vessel, that;s why I love the juxtaposition of the intended and the unintended imagery.”

Nancy - Lewisham

“Each art piece is a form of borough within the city of Kerbopolis.”
